Trump Warns Iran No Cards to play with As War Threat Looms Over Talks

‘Loading Up The Ships’ Threat

Donald Trump has ramped up pressure on Iran ahead of crunch peace talks, warning the US is “loading up the ships with the best ammunition” if negotiations fail.

In a blunt message, Trump told Tehran it has “no cards to play” beyond disrupting global shipping — and suggested its survival now depends on making a deal.

“The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate,” he said.

Diplomacy Meets Gunboat Pressure

As tensions escalate, JD Vance has travelled to Pakistan for face-to-face talks with Iranian officials.

Striking a more measured tone, Vance said the US was offering an “open hand” — but warned that any attempt to “play” Washington would be met with resistance.

Talks are also being led by envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, underscoring the high stakes.

Fragile Ceasefire On The Brink

The two-week ceasefire is already showing cracks.

One major fault line is Lebanon, where Benjamin Netanyahu has made clear operations will continue.

Israeli strikes have intensified, with reports of mass casualties in Beirut — including dozens of children — as the conflict spills across multiple fronts.

Trump Urges Israel To ‘Low-Key It’

Behind the scenes, Trump appears to be reining Israel in.

After speaking with Netanyahu, he said Israel would “low-key it” to avoid derailing negotiations.

But Israeli military leaders insist the war is far from over, warning they can resume full-scale operations against Iran “at any moment.”

Iran Demands Concessions First

Tehran is also digging in.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has demanded a full ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of frozen Iranian assets before talks can properly begin.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah has warned against “free concessions,” piling further pressure on fragile diplomacy.

Hormuz Remains The Ultimate Lever

At the centre of the standoff is the Strait of Hormuz — through which roughly 20% of the world’s oil flows.

Trump has declared its full reopening “non-negotiable.”

But Iran is reportedly tightening control, even charging tankers tolls — in some cases in bitcoin — turning the waterway into both a weapon and a bargaining chip.

Talks Begin Under A Cloud

Negotiations in Islamabad are set to begin under extreme tension, with threats, mistrust and competing demands on all sides.

Even Pakistan’s own officials briefly inflamed the situation with anti-Israel remarks, highlighting the volatile backdrop.

Peace Or Escalation

The stakes could hardly be higher.

Trump is talking peace — while preparing for war.

Iran is negotiating — while tightening its grip.

And with multiple fronts still active, one misstep could collapse the entire process.

For now, diplomacy is alive.

But it is walking a very thin line.

I would say the cards for the Strait of Hormuz are pretty strong, might I suggest they are top Trumps?

Obviously Iran holds all the important cards.

Suggest to listen to UK Foreign Secretary Cooper's statement of the other day; The UK will not accept Iran's control of the Strait, nor tolls.

She is staking out a position shared by multiple world powers.

Where has there been carpet bombing?

What war crimes occurred?

You are fast and loose with claims, but do you have anything to substantiate your venomous disinformation?

I would suggest that Iran holds the cards at this point. Trump is on the verge of driving up oil prices, perhaps to the highest levels ever seen, and this is the very man who promised to bring down inflation. He's about to break the world economy with his level of threats and aggravation, and this is not going to go over well with the US population come November.

Goodbye Don, your influence is almost gone.
