Digital Mucous Cyst

Featured Replies

I have been diagnosed with a Digital Mucous Cyst on my left index finger (photo attached). First consultation was with a dermatologist, who suggested I can leave it alone or get it removed. Although it is not painful and not causing any issues, I can see that it is impacting the nail matrix and causing deformity which could become worse and permanent. As I understand, the only way to deal with this is excision by surgery.

Although I am not a big fan of the uber high-priced hospitals in the Sukhimvit area where I live, from my reasearch this procedure seems to be a particularly delicate operation best trusted to a top-notch specialist. So I really need a doctor that has the skills and experience to do the job. Appreciate any suggestions for the right doctor to do the job as well as sharing of any experiences with this kind of cyst. Much appreciated. HP.

even the "Best Doctor" is not a guarantee for a smooth and successful operation.

But good luck with advices here.

Thanks for the referral @Sheryl . Very well-credentialled doctor.

Appreciate that consideration @D Peter . A very tricky area to operate with tendons, nerves, possibility of bone spur, possibility of requiring a skin graft, etc. All at the tip of a typing finger. Not really something I am keen to jump into. Many thanks.

NO, she's NOT at all

Dr. Panupan is man and very highly regarded. My wife's sister used him for a severe wrist problem.
