The local bank branch is closing so I have had to move ot all to another companyy in cash same day so no gap and in same town as Immigration so can get necessary letters same day.

How long does money have to be in new account by law I thought I read 2 months before and 3 after date of applying ?

I was hoping it was easier and can be issued same day instead of 2 months under consideration for 7 weeks last few years.

A list of documents be handy I know what is needed for marriage have all those bar the same day proof of marriage, Thai wife is available to come with me most days not in hospital, why is it essential to have wife present?

Bit confusing..maybe someone can understand your question.

For extension based on retirement you require 800k seasoned for two months prior to application and maintained for 3 months after approval.

Then not below 400k in remaining months.

Some folk just park 800k in account and leave it all year round.

Application in the main is approved on date of application.

There generally no under consideration period as there is with marriage.

Your wife will need to attend for FIRST retirement extension.

Subsequent extensions not required.

Added note: immigration welcomes the change from extensions based on marriage to retirement.

Firstly because far less paperwork and also are not sent to regional headquarters for approval.

Approved on the spot

I changed from a One-year Extention based on Marriage to Retirement about five years ago, and it's been one of the best transitions I've made.

One negative often mentioned is keeping money in bank (800k) however there is the option of income method and I find that a good option.

Added bonus is balance in the account is minimal so don't even bother with a WILL

You don't need to move your bank account when the bank closes the local branch, just find your next nearest branch. Just walk in and carry on as usual. My local bank office closed about 6 years back, so I used the next bank, then it too closed, now I have to use one of their branches at the local Mall, they do all your letters for immigration there, so no need to move your account.

Yes, I use the THB65K/mo option also. And, one of the biggest attractions for me is that there is a lot less paperwork.

Thanks they offered that but a 5 hour round trip for me.
