Jollibee, the Filipino food giant, has acquired All Day Fresh, which operates the Shabu All Day restaurant chain in South Korea, for 130 billion won (US$88 million). Previously owned by Myungryundang, All Day Fresh is now integrated into Jollibee following approval from the Korea Fair Trade Commission. Jollibee aims to capitalize on the rising popularity of South Korean cuisine worldwide and intends to expand Shabu All Day into Southeast Asia, according to Yonhap News Agency.

Jollibee expects Shabu All Day's operations to add approximately 2% to its group revenues and 8% to global earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT). CEO of Jollibee Group International, Richard Shin, expressed confidence in the brand's proven format and potential for further expansion, emphasizing the importance of maintaining quality and guest experience.

Looking forward, the acquisition could pave the way for further regional growth, as Jollibee leverages its existing network and expertise. The company had recently acquired the South Korean coffee chain Compose Coffee and plans to launch it in the Philippines, reflecting a strategic focus on international expansion.
