Thai Woman Arrested in Oman with More Than 4.4 Kilogrammes of Cannabis

Omani Customs officials arrested a Thai woman at Muscat International Airport after allegedly finding more than 4.4 kilogrammes of cannabis in her luggage. The Oman Customs Department said officers discovered 4,384 grammes of marijuana after detecting suspicious items during an X-ray inspection. Footage released online showed the woman arriving at the checkpoint with a handbag, backpack, and pink suitcase. Officers reportedly found cannabis wrapped inside a yellow courier bag, with 12 packages seized in total. Officials have not released the woman’s identity or confirmed what charges or penalties she may face under Omani law.
