British Tourist Warns Visitors After Vape Fine in Thailand

A British tourist has warned travellers not to bring vapes to Thailand after her partner was reportedly fined 40,000 baht during a family holiday. Sara shared the story on TikTok, saying she and her partner were stopped twice by police within three days for using e-cigarettes on a beach. Thailand bans all e-cigarettes and vaping products, including disposable vapes, pod kits, e-liquids, heated tobacco products, and accessories. Authorities can issue heavy penalties for possession, use, sale, or importation, with possible fines and prison sentences depending on the offence. Sara said the experience left her urging other tourists to avoid vaping in Thailand entirely, even if they are unaware of how strict the rules are.

Agreed - but its still a daft daft law that targets the low hanging fruit, easy catch and most certainly protifable.

When you consider how many helmet-less motorcyclists would have ridden past those very same policemen within that very hour - the we can see the scope of the real intention - its racketeering and profiteering, this has nothing to do with law-enforcement for the greater good of society.

Sop for so many other things in the country. Alas.
