About Chiang Mai immigration booking system

Has anyone successfully done a booking there lately?

I've tried just after midnight and absolutely no slots in any category.

In other northern provinces there is lots of slots available. But non in Chiang Mai.

So why is this ?

Perhaps due to the high population of foreigners in the second largest city in the country?

Why bother to only save a few minutes at the IO.

No. Neither has anyone I know for over a year and a half.

I had a couple online appointments, when they first started the system. Then impossible to get. After two years of trying to get an online appointment, failing, then joining the 730 AM scrum out at Airport IO, followed by two to three and a half hours waiting. This year, folded and got an agent.

Twenty minutes at Central Festival, a semi private waiting room too. Not going back to the scrum, unless they change the (deliberately) balled up system.

*Hope things work out for you.

It seems to be returning to the days of old, early starts, long queues, total uncertainty.

I been told that all the slots are constantly allocated to visa agents (no surprises there)

I'm afraid soon you'll be bringing your sleeping bag if this keeps up.

Guess who benifits the most from all the delay 😉

I thought that is/was Nakhon Ratchisma ? 🤔

That depends on how the population is counted within the districts of the cities.

Most Thai cities' revised boundaries are contained in the province's capital district, known as Amphoe Mueang. Chiang Mai is the only city outside Bangkok to cover multiple districts in its urban area. Bangkok and Chiang Mai are the only cities in Thailand with a population of over one million.”

Since the closure of Promenada, Chiang Mai can use another immigration office.

The last thing I want to do is to stay awake until midnight to make an appointment for the immigration office. The Chiang Mai office was easy enough back when I lived there, even easier where I live now.
