Heavy overnight rain caused flooding across several parts of Pattaya, leaving roads submerged and vehicles stranded. Thunderstorms lasting more than an hour sent water rushing into low-lying areas including Soi Khao Noi, Soi Khao Talo, South Pattaya Sukhumvit Road, Third Road, and the railway road behind Wat Tham Samakkhi. Some drivers attempted to pass through the floodwater but stalled, leading to traffic disruption throughout the night. Residents said the city has faced the same flooding problems for decades despite repeated drainage improvements and road upgrades. Locals said the familiar phrase “water awaiting drainage” often translates into property damage, stalled vehicles, and serious inconvenience for both residents and tourists.
