The mosque at Chabad

The mosque at Chabad

Chabad, the Lubavitcher sect of Judaism, has synagogues in over 100 countries, eight here in Bangkok alone. I have only been several times to Bet Sefer Chabad on Sukhumvit 20. It was very satisfying though I didn’t understand much of it.

However, as a Quaker pacifist, it disturbed me greatly that this synagogue was so paranoid that it had to station guards armed with automatic weapons at its gate.

That’s hardly conducive to peace of mind, prayer, study, thoughtfulness and meditation. It made the synagogue feel like an armed camp—Jews against the world.

On the other hand, I often walk by three mosques. They have schools attached and their gates are open 24 hours. Only a sleeping yam for a guard.

Muslims are perceived worldwide as a violent terrorist cult, beheading the unwary and kidnapping sex slaves.

So why are mosques unguarded and synagogues armed?

Don't blame it on numbers. That's deflection.

Is that a trick questions ?

Muslims keep attacking Jewish buildings (any building associated with Jewry) and that's why Jewish buildings need protection .

Muslim buildings are not typically attacked* , that's why they don't need protection

  • Yes, you can do a web search and post some Muslim buildings that have been attacked , but I did mean "Typically"

I've seen an Israeli address this issue online and his explanation was -- this shows that the Muslim side are the violent ones.

Like, you don't have to be intelligent to come to that conclusion

Muslims are often the aggressors so everyone else needs guards. Same reason Christmas markets have 'diversity barriers' in the West, and we have to go through security scanners to get on a plane.

This is one of the stupidest questions I have ever heard.

Apparently 99% of terrorists are Muslim.

Therefore, if like you say they are perceived as violent terrorist cult, beheading the unwary and kidnapping sex slaves you might want to protect yourself against these type.

That any house of worship feels they need armed protection is a sad state. For Chabad, all their attenders must be IDF vets so the militarism come with them.

What's pathetic is that you are clearly voicing opposition to Jews protecting themselves from terrorism. You would be happier if all Jewish spaces were soft targets. I find your rhetoric ignorant, hateful, and disgusting.

Off topic, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread.

This guy was a US born Israeli spy, sending US intel to Israel.

I never knew that existed. I thought they were friends. That's treason. Israel has the capacity to undermine the US. Epstein had ties with Israel, by the way ... did Israel blackmail Clinton? Trump?

He seems to be best buddies with Netanyahu.

Complaining about some decisions US made regarding Israel.

Now thumping his chest, saying Israel will go after Turkey and Egypt. Threatening to use nukes. So will they drag US into those wars too?

Why it's relevant to this thread is because my question is ....

What are you defending exactly? Do you even fully understand what you're defending?

I'd like to wager that you may be well-intentioned, but you're in over your head.
