Americans only 5 year visa for Panama

Featured Replies

I think this could be useful for early retiree Americans under 50 who want to retire in Thailand at 50 but don't want to deal with the hassle of other Thai visas before then.

The video is about people too young to have a pension for the pension based visa in Panama rather an age requirement.
So a downside of this would be if you spend 5 years in Panama and love it and

want to stay, without a pension, you probably won't be able to at age 50.

Panama City is more expensive than Bangkok overall but there are budget options such as the city of David.

Before someone whines, but this isn't about Thailand, it's about Panama, I have explained how this visa can be a transition to Thailand.

Also I think US expats may be interested in any "special visa deal" for Americans anywhere.

For example the one year on entry to Albania for Americans only..

Being American is more often than not a liability these days internationally, but there are some exceptions!

For reference, Panama City is about 25 percent more expensive than Bangkok.

Panama City very much a cosmopolitan international hub has been compared to Bangkok, but much less chaotic as far as things like motorcycles.
