‎I seek reports on urological experience with Bangkok hospitals, clinics, departments and doctors that offer one or more of the following procedures for the reduction of the size of the prostate:

‎* ThuLEP

‎* HoLEP

‎* Aquablation

‎* Turp

‎* Urolift

‎* Rasp

‎Any sharing of details (including costs) is much appreciated.

All of the big Hospitals are doing this. The best is to ask for prices there.

I have heard excellent reports on Aquablation. I recommend listening to the Dr. Geo Prostate Podcast where he interviews a number of doctors on all sorts of procedures.

My free advice (it’s worth at least what you pay for it) is that not every treatment option is appropriate for every patient’s condition. TURP might be good for one case while Rezum might be more appropriate in another. Go and talk with several specialists at several hospitals. Find out what procedures they can do, cost, recovery, prognosis, etc. Have all the tests done that you can. (You can get your imagery, etc. and take it from doctor to doctor.)

Take your time making a decision on which facility, surgeons, treatment to have. You can’t reverse these treatments, so best to get the one that’s most appropriate for your case. Good luck.

When I say take your time I’m presuming that you haven’t been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

You are asking for info of intrusive operations, are they really necessary?!

I have lived with BPH for a number of years and use medication which works for me.

It may not work for you, but have you seen a urologist?

I get the impression from the info you have given, much of your knowledge has been gained from reading about the subject?

Front Row has offered plain and useful info. Well worth taking notice of.

Dr. Niti Navanimitkul is your man!!!!! Can be found at BKK-Pattaya Hospital.

Also has a clinic and writes for the Pattayamail...

Research this in-depth on one, or more, of the AI platforms,

learn about which procedure(s) are most advantageous to your circumstances,

and then visit the urologist(s).

Even then, you can take your time, most prostate cancers are very slow growing, and chances are you will die of something else before the cancer kills you.

Well, not being a doctor I will not give out too much medical advice. The OP should consult a urologist and shouldn’t listen to closely to my advice.

As another poster said, not all treatments mentioned are suitable for all patients.

In addition, some of the specific ones you list have very limited availability in Thailand.

You did not mention prostate artery embolization (PAE) but this is also an option (though, like several of the others you mention, of limited availability to date in Thailand).

The first line of treatment for BPH is always medication, and there are several different regimens that can be used.

Only if medication alone fails to adequately control symptoms, would invasive procedures or surgery be considered. At which point, you should get individualized advice as the which procedures/approaches are suitable for your specific situation taking prostate size, age, overall heath etc into account.

in terms of specialists, see this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/936921-urologist-recommendations/

I had the Rezum treatment a year ago at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital at an advertised price of 200,000b, I was told that is a reduction from 250,000b.

For my experience I think its a rip off, a 20 Minute Operation, a 7 hour stay in Hospital post operation, & I have encded up with symtoms that i never had pre operation.

Now, 15 Months later, i dont have so many night time Toilet trips,or Urine infections, but still have the symtoms I never had before the op..Leakage

I get medication for this from my local government hospital. I am on Duodart, prescribed by my Urologist. Some symptoms have improved. others not getting worse. Been on it nearly 3 years now
