My 2nd 1 Year extension for Retirement Visa Requirements

Featured Replies

Hi All, I'm starting to prepare for my 1 year Non O retirement Visa extension. My appointment is in just over 2 weeks at CW. As it's been nearly a year since i last done this I just want to recap requirements. I've had the 800K Baht untouched in my account for the whole year. Grateful if there are any changes I should be aware of ?

Required:-

Collect overstay acknowledgement forms from front desk at CW. Bring :- Passport. Two 4x6 cm photos. Proof of funds in the bank and bank letter ( Visit Krugsri Bank at CW make a deposit and update pass book and take copy), Filled in Tm7 and completed Tm30, lease agreement (including copy of deeds) Hand drawn map of my condo. (copies of all docs).

I think that's it ? Appointment is at 10am , so i should have time to prepare on the morning, eg visit bank

Baht Cash to pay for visa and re-entry permit etc

thanks

Sounds like you have it dialed in. Don't forget to print your appointment PDF as that is your queue number.

Bank letter and year transaction report can be up to 1 week old, bank passbook has to be updated the date you apply for the extension.

Best of luck with it 👍

I always have a detailed bank statement completely covering the 12 or 13 months from the last extension. My bank book never has sufficient detail, normally has several months of consolidated entries which is no use.

OP, seems you have everything covered.

Personally I would obtain a 12 month bank statement (200b) and Bank Letter (100b) couple days prior to application.

You work need to make photocopy of extension stamp for reentry permit so duck down to level 1 for that.

Note you can also make appointment for reentry permit.

Usually slots available unlike extension.

Obviously time that's made for after obtaining extension..

For all appointments have hard copy print out

You could consider obtaining reentry permit at airport on day of departure.

Both BKK and DMK offices have optional 200b service fee to do the form, photo etc. Just hand over pp.

I also deal with CW and in the main obtain reentry at airport.

Yes thanks, that is an option, I'll see how it goes on the day. I'm normally stressed when getting flights, so would prefer one less worry on the day...:)

That's, not unusual however for all the reentry permits I have obtained at airports I have never had an issue time wise.

As you say check the que line after you have obtained the extension.

Note for reentry permit they won't give you a que ticket without you showing the filled in TM8

Unpredictable. My first extension at CW did (which is normal), my second did not.

Most likely not.

You would go to desks that do 90 reports.

Believe they have moved to level 3 above the main office area.

Note you need do extension first followed by 90 report.

ok thanks, there's no slots free for that day, so i've booked one the following week, also maybe i can try doing the report online. but as it's my first since landing in Thailand this time round, i think i'll be forced to revisit CW

Online won't work.

You can do it via mail 15 days prior to due date or visit CW in person.

Note: location of Report desks has changed.

"At the Chaengwattana (CW) Immigration Office, in-person 90-day reporting desks are located on Level 3 of Building B, above the main Immigration Division 1 area"

ok that's sorted then, i'll see what i can do on the day of the 1 year extension, and as backup i've got appointments for 90 day checkin and re-entry permit the following week.

One more thing, if you own the condo where you live, as I do, CW wanted a copy of the yellow house registration book at the extension appointment.

I also use CW and am a condo owner. I have been renewing at CW for over 20 years, never been asked for a yellow house book. Good thing too as I don't have one. Tried once to obtain one, but was refused.

It's definitely not required, not sure why they decided to ask you for that. Is that something you offered when they had some question about where you live?

When the IO asked for the photocopy of the yellow book, I handed it over (but was not asked for the original). No, I didn't offer the yellow house book with the usual papers handed to the IO at the beginning of the meeting. I had never needed to show it (and give a photocopy) over the years at CW, but I had read a note here on asean.com that they were asking for that now, as well as for a photocopy of the pink ID card, so I came armed with both. When the IO asked for the photocopy of the yellow book, I handed it over (but was not asked for the original). They did not ask for the pink ID card,.

If I may, the yellow house book (and the blue one) was a piece of cake at my district office. You show them the deed (chanote) and sale contract (stamped by the Land Office), and you get both books. The pink card was a bit trickier and required a Thai witness, but they issued that to me, too. Every official document with my name on it makes me feel more secure here in LOS.

Hi all, Just got back from CW, and I'm pleased to report I was successful in getting my 1 year retirement visa extension. Nothing different to what I was expecting, and went smoothly. Slight problem with translation when trying to talk to the bank staff in the morning, but all good in the end.

I then went and got my re-entry stamp, and booked my 90 day check, booked at 11:15 and after 1 hour break for lunch was eventually seen at about 14:00. My ticket was number 290, and when i first got there they were at number 140 ish.

Thanks for all your help. Any questions, please let me know.
