Thai E-visa website down?

Featured Replies

Afternoon.

Trying to lodge a SETV application, in Laos, and have been getting the following message all day. Is it a localised issue? Everybody else getting it? They just don't like me? Website gets Sunday off?

Sorry, something is wrong with the server.

I just tried it (from Bangkok). Same thing. Go and get a beer and try tomorrow......

Hopefully it is up and I can get to the embassy to pay in the morning.

Very, very common during weekends. Not only does the e-visa system go down, the embassy websites go down constantly on weekends.

back up and running fine !!!

Yep. Got in there this morning. Wife's (Japanese pp) visa already approved. They're making me wait.
Incidentally, got taken aside crossing at Nong Khai, for the Very Stern Talking To. Silly of me to say "Thailand" and not Bulgaria or Canada when asked where I was going after Laos. Grumpy IO asked me how long in Laos, did I have ticket home, when was that etc. Settled down when I said I was applying for a SETV, but really, leaving the country, it's all theatre, isn't it?

Two other farang foreigners also got the side room, despite only being in Thialand 3 weeks.

Japanese stamped out with a smile.

They did you a favor. If you had been someone who planned to turn around right away, letting you know about their new rules on your way out is a lot better than just refusing to stamp you back in!

As you're doing a visa run, I really have no idea what you're complaining about.
