Non-O visa in Vientiane

Featured Replies

Is an income letter from my embassy or monthly bank transfers into a Thai bank account over the last 12 months accepted at the Thai embassy in Vientiane when applying for a non-O visa based on retirement? I suppose the combination method is not accepted. I'm trying to switch from an agent based non-O extension to above mentioned methods as doing that in country seems to be not possible. Anyone has good advice about the best way to do it?

The e-visa website states;

"Financial evidence showing monthly income of at least 65,000 THB or equivalent, or having the current balance of at least 800,000 THB or equivalent (e.g., bank statements from any banks for the last three months, or proof of earnings)"

This is what the Embassy should follow.

Reports are that all methods are accepted, meaning you can use:

*an embassy letter

*proof of funds in your country

*proof of funds in Thailand

*proof of monthly income transfers to Thailand.

You need to upload a minimum of 3 months bank records.

Don't forget to upload your visa/entry stamp to show you are actually in Lao, and once you submit the application print the confirmation with the QR code so you can get in the embassy and pay in cash for the Visa between 9:00 and 11:00 Monday through Friday.

Go slow, check the data you entry, and check the autofill from when you scan the passport mrz on the data page.

It is not a race, get the application right, upload what they want, where they want it and you will get approved.

Make a data entry error and the application will cancel automatically and you will be out the money.
