Still 60 day?

Featured Replies

If arrive after tomorrow with French passport, i still get 60 days?

VE entries won't revert back to 30 days until 15 days after the change has been announced in the Royal Gazette.

As yet no such announcement has been posted, although I'm expecting it to happen the end of this month.

Yes. Definitely

Yes as per today June 24th, still 60 days

Indeed and you have to wonder just why

I dont buy any of this other "chatter" that certain events have delayed its implementation

What I do buy is dwindling arrival figures (despite what TAT claim) for a multitude of reasons not least of all Vietnam surging in arrivals because of a straight forward visa exempt of 45 days and 90 days SETV the latter of which is dead simple to apply for

Thailand needs to get its head out of the sand

And I don't buy that.

The average tourist only stays in Vietnam for 10 days, similar to Thailand.

Thailands visa exempt policy of 60 days made no difference and allowed VE entry to 93 Countries, as opposed to Vietnams VE entry to only 39 Countries.

I think you need to look farther afield for the reasons in the reduction of tourists to Thailand.

Value for money.
Quality for money.

Widespread Scams.

Widespread Corruption.

Dual pricing.

The issue is that Thailand is just another mass tourist destination, and all the issues that brings, since covid none of the people i know who used to came every few years have stopped coming, they stick to Europe U.S and South America is becoming attractive, though many just found the high humidity with the temperature, not very pleasant, and a few of thir wives did say they found it seedy.

European arrivals are actually up.

The "problem" are the Chinese, they don't come in the numbers that used to come.

For the reasons, look at China's economy.

Abductions like the kidnapping of Wang Xing don't help.

There's also a massive governmental push for domestic tourism/staycations in China and every time I see a YT video of Vietnam, they seem to be there in numbers too..............
