Health insurance for LTR?

Featured Replies

I currently have AXA (4M max and 100k Deductible per incident)....seems to meet the LTR requirements. But looking around... for my renewal that is due soon.

Under 70 and healthy... no pre-con.

I heard of Falcon (no quote yet) but wonder if anyone had them or others they recommend?

Thanks!

I have Pacific Cross. Used it for my OA visa and it also qualified for my LTR.

You can compare/buy policies on CheckDI (Used to be MisterPrakan) https://checkdi.com/intl/main?lg=en

Or if you prefer to speak to a Broker, try AA Insurance https://www.aainsure.net/contact_pattaya.html

Thanks... I was hoping someone had personal experience.... so as to understand how they handle claims, etc.

I'll check that site..

I had a quote for Pacific Cross... but it was much higher than AXA...

But have you used it to pay for any hospital treatment?

WRLife, I know of 3 people that made claims without any problems. Go direct or through an agent same price

No. I have a 40,000 baht deductible. I haven't had any serious illnesses. I have read comments from others that PC did pay their claims. My experience reading comments about insurance company recommendations is that you will always find people who love or hate a particular company.

AXA always finds reasons not to pay.

So your treatments have all been less than your 40k deductible, or you have never claimed, yes?

Had Pacific Cross for 2 years. I had one hospital claim with Pacific Cross but they never paid.

PC rejected the e-filing from Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital. Next they said I had to mail them 3 passport copies to prove my identity. Next they said I had to fill out paper claim forms detailing hospital treatment and mail them the original hospital receipts (no email allowed). Next they said they never received the letter with receipts I sent. Next I talked to an agent who said that if I make a claim my insurance renewal will go up because I am higher risk (1 claim in 2 years??).

I gave up trying to make a claim after 2+ months of aggravation. My year 3 renewal increased 35% despite no processed claims. I asked for an explanation from 2 agents and was ignored.

What's my point? And here on AN there are many members who are very dissatisfied with WR, to which you have agreed.

And.many who are dissatisfied with PC, AIA and others...ask the people.that are dissatisfied what the problem was...the ones I know, were trying a quick one, fraudulent claims, lying on their application

Both. For eight years I never had a hospital bill over 20,000 baht. I've had treatments in the emergency room. Physical therapy for a month. MRI's. A couple of nights stay in a private hospital in a private room. All below 20,000.

Last January I elected to get shock wave treatment for a stubborn kidney stone. Kidney stones are a pre-existing condition for me so I paid out of pocket. The cost was $4,500 (150,000 baht). It was a private hospital. It included the private room overnight stay and the non-invasive surgery.
