Best Courier For Letter Uk To Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi,

Having had an important document go missing somewhere between East Grinstead and Koh Chang, I'm wondering what the safest and value-for-money delivery option is for my second attempt? FEDEX and DHL seem a little expensive at around 45UKP.

If anyone is travelling LON-BKK in next couple of weeks, would they be prepared to carry for me to BKK?

Regards.

Take it to the Thai post office and send it EMS. (Express Mail Service). It will cost you 600 baht but it WILL get there. I have always used EMS for important documents and have found the service reliable and fast.

I think the OP wanted the service UK-BKK.

I would take the letter to the Post Office and have it sent "International Signed For."

If October 6th arrival in BKK is not too long away PM me. I'm in Sussex to start with.

I have never had an EMS lost but they do go astray and their online tracking has only ever worked once.

If it is very important then use a courier, otherwise EMS will do. I am sending a driver lisense tomorrow and I will not use EMS, but that's just me LOL UPS has proved OK outgoing but delivery in Thailand can be a mare due to incompetent delivery personnel.

I am going on Sep 6th, now depending upon if, when I get to Bkk there are no problems finding where to deposit said packet as I am a lazy person and also if it is unsealed so I can see its not crammed with errrm 'stuff' etc :o , then contact me and I could take it.

I have to say Fed-Ex have never let me down. I've used them on numerous occasions and always had very good service.

Even when Suvanabumi opened and parcels were going in and not coming out I had a parcel delayed and because of the delay they refunded it as they didn't provide the service they promised.

Several other times they've sorted out or rectified issues and left me feeling a happy customer, which doesn't happen very often from big companies these days. Also it is far more than I can say from experiences with UPS - who I just felt like I was being conned and they didn't give a toss.

I'll try the good old PO "signed for" service - will PM Cobalt60 too - thanks.

Are you able to write the address in Thai script

With the Word Thailand in English at the bottom?

Sure helps the posty deliver it easier.

If not you could ask on here for a translation, via a PM to a member, who may be willing to help :o

I think I can do it for the man, just depends on timings really.

I'm heading out 20th Sept, and will be in Koh Chang around 7th Oct, if that's not too late. Same requirements as previously requested i.e. originally open, subject to inspection, etc. Problem is I'm in scotland, but go via Heathrow. PM if interested.

FedEx and EMS have all worked fine for me dozens of times, but TNT have proved completely hopeless the 3 times I used them.
