Hong Kong

Featured Replies

I'm going to Hong Kong for a business trip in late October and have decided to stay an extra 3 days so I can see the city, as I've never been there before. Do any forum members have any hotel recommendations or an area in which to stay? I'd be looking to pay around 3000B a night (as the company won't be funding this) and would like be close to the nightlife and shopping areas.

Many thanks,

JJ

Just back from a week's holiday in HK (lived there many years).

I would recommend staying on HK island in causeway bay or wanchai.

I found my hotel from www.wotif.com but cannot recommend it.

Things to do:

Take the Peak tram up to Victoria Peak and then the double decker 15 bus down.

Take the Star Ferry to Kowloon.

Go to an outlying island (Cheung Chau is my favourite.

Eat a dim sum.

Spend an evening in Wanchai or Lan Kwai Fong.

Use the MTR (underground)

Shop!

Try Shamrock Hotel for that price range, not bad - good location.

Or The Charterhouse, bit more money not much difference
