Pretty simple really, socialism/communism just doesn't work as you just end up bankrupt as productive people just flee or don't bother, which is easier than ever now... look at what's happening in New York and the influx of people bailing to Texas or Florida etc. The fly in the ointment of the socialist utopia is that it can't be paid for, as taxes are just too oppressive and people aren't rewarded for innovation, hard work, or entrepeneurship, so why bother? Just go somewhere where it is instead.
