Mixing up my album covers when syncing from MacBook to iPhone.

Featured Replies

So, it appears that this is a common problem but as yet i haven’t seen a solution.

I have been a Windows laptop and iPhone/ipad/iPod user for many years, used iTunes to sync my music from laptop to iPod and more recently iPhone.

It always worked flawlessly but seemed over complicated and outdated.

Recently bought a MacBook Neo and now using the Music app which appears to have replaced iTunes, simplified but still does the job of cataloguing all my music.

Transferred all my music via usb hard drive and loaded onto Music app, everything transferred really smoothly and it all plays on the laptop.

All the associated album covers transferred and are correct to their relevant albums.

But, when i sync my iPhone several ( around 20% ) of the album covers don’t correspond to the relevant albums, it seems quite random, for example, an artist who has 10 albums might have 3 album covers mixed with 3 different artists. Some artists are unaffected.

I wouldn’t mind but it is annoying as it reflects on my CarPlay experience !!

Anyone got a fix or any ideas, as I said it is not uncommon but am willing to try any suggestions .

So, think i have fixed it, connected iPhone to mac and open music app, click on iPhone and unclick “ sync all music “ which clears the music app on iPhone.

Unplug iPhone to do a hard reset which clears the cache, connect again and sync all music to iPhone.

Seems to have done the trick although haven’t checked every album, presumably CarPlay will follow suit.
