Ext of stay - 3 free PP pages enough?

Featured Replies

My PP still has 3 free pages right now, last year for Ext of stay based on marriage in CW they noticed this fact but did not say that for next year I would need a new passport (current one is valid until 09/28).

Any experiences with this?

As long as it's not an old US passport which the last pages are designed only for endorsements and immigrations will not stamp extensions on you should be fine.

Remember you're going to get an under consideration stamp which is the same size as an extension (about half a page) and then you'll get the extension stamp (another half a page) and if you need a reentry permit it's going to take up more room. They usually can get inside ways so it only takes half a page.

Thx so much for your input and I will risk it not to get a new one, the free pages are 3 real pages, as you stated they need 1 page for the two stamps.

Or as an alternative I might get a new one and try to get the new stamps into the new passport on the same day if this is possible, it would eliminate the need to go to CW again just for this event of passport old to new transfer... (headache already by thinking of it)...

You won't have an issue in obtaining next extension in with your current pp.

FWIW: I would renew pp prior to next extension. Get it out of the way.

Which pp country.

What will happen if you have to do a sudden trip out/return visit that uses up your pages?

I suggest that it is wiser to replace it now.

2 pages is ample for an under consideration stamp, extension, re-entry permit and an entry stamp.

Doesn't need a new passport until next years extension.

Good point above from scottiejohn.

Travel needs can be unexpected

Passports in main valid for 10 years.

Small change loss to renew early.

Disagree.

Under consideration stamp and extension stamp takes up a single page.

Whether a single or multi entry permit it takes up half a page.

Even if the OP made 4 exit and re-entries within the next year there is still ample room for 4 entry stamps.

He'll need to make sure his destination doesn't stamp him in and out or might struggle.

You'll probably find several half filled pages in an older passport suitable for any additional entry/exit stamps.

You used to be able to get pages added at the embassy. I did that years ago, not sure if it is still allowed. Call the embassy and ask.

US was well known for that, but stopped doing so 10 years ago. There may be other countries still doing it, but not highly likely.

Yeah, you bloody yanks were so lucky getting additional pages.

I'm an Aussie, we used to be issued 64 page passports, I'd go through that in less than 10 years, also had my concurrent passport, valid 3 years, blew that away in a couple of years

You can't be serious, whining about a 64-page passport?

I have 32 pages in my passport (EU country), of which 4 are dedicated to my children

I remember about 10 years ago I asked to a grumpy lady officer in my country if there are available passports with more pages, the answer was - if you dont like our passports, go and get citizenship elsewhere. laugh
