Thai partner working from home

Featured Replies

I have Non 'O' retirement visa, a rental bungalow in my name and a Thai Partner. My Thai partner is now making cakes and other foods in the bungalow and delivering them to customers. I will not be doing any work but it is inevitable that when I go shopping in Macro for groceries that some of her ingredients will end up in the same trolley. My question is will any of this impact on my Non 'O' visa status?

Why won't you do any work, no one will see you, it's the best occupation in Thailand.

There's an Aussie guy, owns a pie shop in Jomtien, owns the best pie shop in Thailand, he's there every morning, slaving over the dough counter, making pies.

He's incognito, raking in the cash 💲💲💲💲💰💰💰

Both my Missus and myself run a small business which is partly run from home, and partly from farms. We post about our work on social media - so our business is not a secret. While I have a valid work permit, nobody has asked to see it in the last 5 years of running our business, and it's never even mentioned when visiting Immigration.

So a bit of shopping for your wife's business seems like an extremely low to zero risk to me.

I help the wife with her businesses nearly everyday and not a peep about it from anyone, though in the house and out of sight except for the shopping for supplies.

His "Thai partner" not Thai wife.

With a Non O extensions based on retirement a requirement is no working in Thailand.

Those with extensions based on marriage to Thai can obtain work permit

I think (but I'm not sure) a husband can work for a wife's business. When I hear "partner", I always assume it's a same-sex relationship.

I think the issue is when there is a big sh*t storm.

Why not just say girlfriend, unless she is a business partner.

That depends on the brunch of Macro and who is the guard at the exit. If it is the guard with the hat, glasses and mustache - well, he's an undercover immigration officer and if he see that you bought some ingredients for your partner's business he will cancel your Non 'O' on the spot and take you to the airport for deportation.
