1 hour ago1 hr I have Permanent Residence and get the 12 month 'exit permit' every year as I travel overseas regularly.Last month I forgot to do the Police report for the 'red book' Residence Permit. It was valid for 5 years, and I only realised I'd forgotten after it had expired for 3 weeks. (Reminder for the 5 year event was in an old mobile phone, and it hadn't transferred to my new phone .... and I'd forgotten until I happened to read a thread in AN that reminded me to check). An internet search said it was not a big deal as my 'Blue Book' and passport had the 12 month Exit stamp, and it said it would be a small fine for being late. However, my PR agent was freaking out saying I'd lose my Permanent Residence if I'd travelled overseas during the time the red book has expired. The senior officer at the police station also asked if I'd travelled during that period, and by luck, I'd not been out of Thailand for over a month, so no issue .... Just a 700 THB fine, and I now have another 5 years. But did I nearly lose my PR, and was I just lucky I'd not been overseas last month?I thought having the exit permit in blue book and passport would mean it was not a huge issue?
