Sick and Tired of the Avoidable Accidents on Thai Roads...

Kids were attending an activity today, on their route home their nanny was stuck in traffic at a traffic light Phuket town area.

The car behind her Thai white had no insurance.

The Bike ridden at high speed by a Moldovian, had no insurance, and likely has no license.

The outcome
- Van will be in the garage for a period of time for repairs, insurance will cover it.

- Car from experience (happened to me a decade ago with a drunk Russian) will likely have to be rebuilt and likely lost 30-40% of its re-sale value due to its damage even after repairs, and who fits the bill who knows as they don't have insurance.

- Kids shaken - should never happen, these roads are like 20-30klm at best

- Thai girl/family out of a car for an extended period of time

- Moldavian likely gets off lightly

There needs to be a serious crackdown with extensive legal persecution, too many idiots able to rent bikes without insurance without licenses, same with cars, the rest of us have issuances (i pay about 250k a year for all of our cars), and have had a license here since 2011.

Force them to use public/private transport, to make the roads safer, its bad enough dodging Issan or Bangkok trippers, without having to deal with Eastern Europeans.

Anutin wants to make the country happier? well go after the cartel of rentals and people illegally operating vehicles on the road.
