In most other countries, this kind of chaotic behavior toward law enforcement wouldn’t be tolerated for a second and simply throwing around the word "Nazi" can actually land you in jail.

The real authoritarians are the ones trying to shut down immigration enforcement through mob tactics while crying victim when they face the consequences.

The Nazi types killed at an ICE facility in the past, knowing that their inflammatory rhetoric directly incites violence and chaos against law enforcement yet the international and domestic leftists still push it. They scream "Nazi" and "fascist" at border agents & local police for doing their jobs, then act shocked when tensions explode into interference, resistance, or worse. Bodycam footage like this Cedar Rapids video exposes exactly who the real aggressors are.

The answer to your questions is, "Yes. No. Maybe." It all depends on the circumstances. It gets complicated because laws vary from state to state in the U.S. Within each state, local ordnances and police procedure also vary widely. In general, the police in the U.S. do not have a right to order people to stop walking and show ID unless the police have reasonable and lawful grounds to do so.

In this specific case, the man in the green shirt and tan hat, as well as the woman in the black and white dress, had been reported to police for blocking and harassing vehicles at the entrance and exit to the DHS facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. When police arrived on scene, those two, and other demonstrators, ran or at least walked quickly away from the entrance but were still on DHS property.

The police offficer gave the man what's called a "lawful order" to stop walking so he could talk to him as part of the investigation. He can be arrested if he fails to comply with a lawful order. His subsequent refusal to cooperate with the investigation is also grounds for arrest.

You can see the details of how the situation played out in the video below. The woman in the black and white dress began spitting on cars @6.32.

That video was tame compared to this one.. Unfortunately they only got charged with misdemeanor activity.

Here's a recent example at Denver airport: ICE arrests a woman with an expired visa during boarding. A protester tries to interfere and disrupt with the usual shouting and "help us" routine, then gets told she'll be denied boarding if she doesn't stop.

Same pattern ,try to shut down enforcement through disruption, then act shocked when it backfires.

That's why I'm asking, what I assumed was, a straightforward question.........is it the case, if told to stop and provide ID and you refuse......do you go to jail?
