No End In Sight For The War In Iran

Featured Replies

So more than 8 months into the war in Iran there seems to be no end in sight. Even though trump and MAGA declared the war won and Iran completely defeated after a few days, even the dimmest of bulbs can see that that's not true.

In fact, the US has lost the war. The IRGC is now firmly in control of the country, they still maintain much of their missile and drone strike capabilities, a younger and angrier Ayatollah has emerged, and most importantly, the SOH is for all practical purposes closed.

Well done, trump, you got your forever war, and in the process made everything more expensive for just about every person on the planet.

When the time comes, the global celebrations will last for weeks.

"A CBS News/YouGov poll released earlier this week found that a majority of Americans are not optimistic about the war and feel that its objectives are not clear. More than two-thirds of respondents said the Trump administration should end the war now.

Both sides seem to agree on one thing: There is no end in sight to the war. U.S. defense officials told us that they believe conflict will continue into 2027. Iran is signaling that it plans for a fight even longer than that."

In my humble opinion "Mission Accomplished!" is a "great Military term" that should be brought back. 🤭

Agree, 'mission accomplished', Iran nuke program knocked back decade or so. If citizen won't or can't overthrow the Iranian gov't, no need or use for USA to be there.

Nothing more USA can do, but waste tax dollars, by bombing Iran bases that attack ships and other countries. Their fight, their region, about time for them to deal with the terrorist nations there.

Let the neighboring, oil producing states handle Iran. Take out the Houthis, and simply avoid the Straits of Hormuz.

Knocked back or not, Trump and Israel have given the Iranians an even greater reason to want to develop a nuclear weapon.

The US can't keep coming back every few years to try and bomb them into submission each time they suspect they are getting close. It really needed a proper two sided settlement.

  1. As the US are now finding out, it's difficult and expensive.

  2. The Iranians have adapted, and now build everything under mountains where it is difficult to get to them.

One thing I will agree with Trump regarding his negotiations. The left hand of the Iranians doesn't seem to know what the right is doing. That is a cause of wiping out their leadership, thereby letting their so called mosaic infrastructure (likely all IRGC) take over, where each district has autonomy to attack.

So calamity Don' and Pistol Pete' haven't defanged the turbans' as stated months ago

Time for they're begging for a deal statement imminent 🤔

Mistakes are bound to happen in the fog of war, the US has very little experience with operations like this, they have a one a war of any consequence in 81 years, they're already running low on munitions and the expense of this war is up to a billion dollars a day so far. That is money that the cash strapped US ust doesn't have to spend. But Don doesn't mind because the idea of adding to the US deficit means nothing to him, he won't be around anyway, and he cares not one iota for the well-being of the average American.

Nobody knows where this war is going to lead, but it was dangerous, it was reckless, it was unnecessary, it could end up lasting years and costing trillions of dollars, and the end result could be another Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Algeria or Egypt, just a few of the misadventures that the US has gotten themselves involved in, in the past few decades.

It might have been better to just let Israel do a surgical strike of the nasty Ayatollahs building, taking him and some top officials out, and letting it play out that way.

The amount of chaos Trump has caused for the entire planet with his unnecessary forever war is astounding. It was sich a bad choice and the timing could not have been worse, as the world economy is already challenged enough. This means nothing to him as his wealth continues to grow through massive corruption.

What did they think was going to happen with the strait and why did they think they could handle the consequences of this recklessness.

Trump deserves severe punishment for this act. America will be reaping the blowback for years to come and nobody knows how long the chaos will last.

Dumb and dumber. Pure Don style stupidity and staggering levels of ignorance and hubris.

The only good that can come from this is if MAGA devotees finally realize what a dunce they supported and rise up against this street trash pig president.

One of the biggest liabilities that Trump had leading up to this war was the decision to use two absolute imbeciles in the form of Witkoff and Kushner. They are both rabid Zionists, they both deliberately lied to Iran during the negotiations in order to fool them into thinking that the US was sincere, and look at the outcome that we have.

The thing that a very tiny mind like Trump doesn't get is that Iran will not negotiate with the US at this point.

The US has backed themselves into a corner and the economic devastation has been way beyond what they anticipated, and the price they're going to pay for this in the midterms is going to be brutal. Unchecked inflation, rising unemployment, the closing of hundreds of thousands of small businesses, no return of manufacturing to the US, a shortage of labor due to extreme and short sighted immigration policy, and the abandonment of any hope that Trump would improve the quality of life for Americans, but instead we get sabotage of those hopes for the entire planet.

Don's demise will be a good thing, as Trump will lose his power and he will just become a whiny gutter trash punk, will have to deal with being doubly impotent, and hopefully he will eventually disappear into oblivion. Morbid sickness is quite likely, considering his rapid decline, and his three or four cheeseburger a day diet.

See ya Don. You will not be missed, the world will celebrate your demise with such glee, millions will take to the streets and welcome the return of civility, decency, honor, grace and hope.

trump has been begging the mullahs for a deal for weeks, but the mullahs have a lot more time on their hands than trump, and are stringing him along.

Reports state that the Iranians have employed psychologists in the negotiations who are experts in the field of dementia and malignant narcissistic personality disorder, so are able to play him like the fool he is.

Like they were doing before USA/Israel stepped in. Results: many dead, worldwide economic uncertainty, Hornuz closed, Houthis on the attack again, all facts, and imo Iran now knows it needs a nuclear deterrent and will acquire one.

So we went from totally obliterated a year ago to "knocked back"...

Both of course without any proof, with satellite pics showing activity on Irans nuclear sites...

Thanks for spotting the obvious typo, I'm impressed!

Would you be surprised if the war is still on in October despite Iran losing the war a couple of days in (according to Pete and trump)?

Bummer, indeed. Hopefully the American electorate, if they're allowed to vote, express their dissatisfaction accordingly in the midterms.thumbsup

It really depends on the time of day as to beg, bomb, nasty guys, good guys it's over. it's just begun the're obliterated, the're firing missiles, it's open, they sunk our ship.

Hunter Biden is right.

To misquote Churchill: ' Never in the field of conflict was so much drivel told to so many by so few'.

With the polling showing how popular the war is amongst the US electorate, I imagine Iran are 'happy' to ensure this debacle (posh for cluster****) drags on into the midterms.

Maybe saving their ammo for a big strike late October.
