Phuket Woman Faces Murder Charge After Mother-in-Law’s Killing

A 36-year-old woman was charged with murder after allegedly beheading her 74-year-old mother-in-law at their home in Chalong, Phuket. Neighbours alerted police and restrained the accused before officers arrived at the property. Investigators believe the two women argued while they were alone in the house, leading the suspect to allegedly attack the victim with a kitchen knife. The accused’s husband said she had cared for his mother for years and had been receiving treatment for a psychiatric condition since 2016. Police are continuing to investigate what prompted the attack, while the victim’s body was sent to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
