Jon Ossoff unleashes brutal attack on Trump as a ‘draft-dodging, crook president’

Georgia Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has dramatically escalated his war of words with Donald Trump, branding the president a “draft-dodging, crook president” while accusing him of recklessly dragging America into a war he does not know how to end.

Ossoff made the extraordinary attack during a campaign appearance alongside Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, a former Navy captain and astronaut whom Trump has previously targeted over a video telling US troops they are not required to obey illegal orders.

Trump versus a war hero

Defending Kelly, Ossoff said it was a sign of the times that Trump had attempted to target a man who “embodies American heroism”.

Trump previously called for Kelly and five other Democratic lawmakers to be arrested, accusing them of “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR” after they urged military personnel not to follow unlawful commands.

Ossoff, who is fighting for re-election in Georgia, has increasingly made Trump the central target of his campaign.

The insults are flying

The latest broadside follows an even more personal attack by Ossoff at the weekend, when he accused Trump of sleeping through meetings, golfing and trading stocks while American sailors remain deployed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln during the Iran war.

He also mocked Trump's desire to build a White House ballroom and referred to the president travelling with aide Natalie Harp aboard a luxury aircraft gifted by Qatar.

The White House response was typically Trumpian.

Trump dismissed Ossoff as “Pee-wee Herman”, while White House communications director Steven Cheung branded the Georgia senator a “radical, extremist Dumocrat.”

Ossoff, however, clearly has no intention of backing down.

With the 2026 elections approaching, the Georgia Senate race is becoming another major battlefield in the increasingly vicious political war between Trump and the Democrats.

And judging by the latest exchange, the gloves are very firmly off.
