Tourist Rescued After Ignoring Red Flag at Phuket Beach

Lifeguards rescued a foreign woman from dangerous seas at Nai Thon Beach in Phuket after she reportedly ignored red flags and repeated warnings not to swim. Beach staff said strong waves and currents had made conditions unsafe, but the tourist insisted on entering the water anyway. She soon began struggling in the surf and was pulled unconscious from the sea by lifeguards. The woman received assistance on shore and was later reported to be safe. Lifeguards said similar incidents occur regularly and again urged visitors to treat red flags as serious warnings of hazardous sea conditions, especially during periods of rough weather.
