Karaoke Bar Owner Arrested in Nakhon Sawan Child Trafficking Operation

Police arrested a 46-year-old karaoke bar owner in Nakhon Sawan after an undercover operation allegedly uncovered the commercial sexual exploitation of girls under 18. An operative arranged a 2,000-baht transaction involving a 17-year-old, after which officers intervened and took the girl into protective custody. A subsequent search of the venue found nine female workers, including three 16-year-olds, bringing the number of minors taken into protection to four. Police said the owner admitted the venue deducted 500 baht whenever a girl left with a customer. She faces several charges including human trafficking involving child prostitution, procuring a minor for an indecent purpose and operating an entertainment venue without a licence, while the girls have been referred for welfare support and psychological care.
