Woman, 33, missing as pickup seen in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

A 33-year-old woman has been reported missing for more than five days after CCTV reportedly showed her leaving with an on-off boyfriend in a white pickup truck, with the vehicle last traced to Chiang Mai.

Chantra Muang Kao, 50, sought media help on 3 September 2026 after losing contact with her daughter, Wichuda Chansoongnoen, known as Look Pla, since the evening of 28 August. Police at Lat Ya Police Station, kanchanaburi, confirmed that a report has been filed and officers are checking information about the pickup.

CCTV said to show boyfriend collecting her

Chantra said her daughter drove away from home in the early evening of 28 August, saying she had an errand to complete, and then could not be reached by phone.

On the morning of 31 August, Chantra went to speak with a cousin of Look Pla, identified as Kai. She was told that at about 10pm on 28 August, Look Pla had parked her saloon car at Kai's house and said she was going out on business.

According to the family, a man known as Nut, described as Look Pla's boyfriend, then arrived in a white pickup. Look Pla got into the vehicle with him, without saying where she was going or how long she would be away.

Chantra said Nut denied seeing Look Pla for a month when she contacted him. She said this conflicted with CCTV footage that clearly recorded him arriving in the pickup and taking Look Pla away.

After Chantra told him she had seen the footage, she said Nut blocked her.

Son last spoke to mother on 28 August

Look Pla's 10-year-old son told reporters he last spoke to his mother on the evening of 28 August. He said she told him she was travelling out of province on business before contact stopped.

He said he messaged Nut to ask where his mother was. Nut reportedly denied being with her and said he had travelled abroad for work, before he stopped answering calls and messages.

Chantra said her daughter normally cared closely for both her son and her mother, including taking them where they needed to go. She said she did not believe Look Pla would voluntarily leave her child and mother without contact for five days.

The mother said the couple had repeatedly separated and reconciled after arguments, including alleged physical violence. She fears her daughter may have been lured away and harmed, but appealed for Look Pla to return home if she is safe.

Police continue vehicle checks

The vehicle is being traced after it was last seen in Chiang Mai. Lat Ya police said officers are following up information about the white pickup, but had not found either the missing woman or Nut at the time of the report.

All sounds rather ominous- I hope she is safe and seen again soon

Let's look at some facts of the story.

As quoted above knowledge of physical violence, conflict.

Then she knowing as a mother with a child and that Family and Friends do Not approve of this guy otherwise she would just tell everyone what she was doing, decides to go with "Nut" somewhere according to the Video.

There are all sorts of Risks we take in life. We usually do some quick analysis and determine if the Risk are acceptable. But "What was she thinking"

I don't want any harm for her.

Hope she is found safe and can make this a learning experience.

Whatever this guys motive was, it seems premeditated along with knowing that cctv is on him.

Doing something criminal while knowingly being recorded by CCTV would be the epitome of stupidity!

I don’t think he knew the camera was there because otherwise he wouldn’t have said he hasn’t seen her in a month….

Of course.

Either that or he just doesn’t care. Though some relinquish all sense of rational while executing a crime.

Once the Thai cops bring him in, he'll sing like a canary and blub about some silly man-child-like reason for doing what he's done, so that he gets a lighter sentence.

Well, let’s hope that’s the case because then he’ll definitely go down for it.
