Army Chief Expects New Government Be Shortlived

Of the new government that will be in power after the election, Gen Boonrawd said he believed its life-span will be short - about one to two years - because the country would still be lacking in unity and the continued political problems would not have settled.

"Once the new government comes into power, we could say that the country was still experiencing a fledgling democracy, and we would soon go back to square one. But I don't believe there will be another coup," he said.
