i need to record some voice clips ( maximum 3 minutes long ) and i want to be able to overlay sound /music etc

does anyone know of a decent programme / software that is quite easy to use !! to enable me to achieve this ? and any tips /tricks or recommendations on microphone etc

Try Audacity. It works for me. You can find it in the AV section of Thaivisa downloads.
