Extension Of Stay

Featured Replies

Can a extension of stay (retirement) be renewed prior to the allowed until date. Say your extension is until Feb.08 and you want to renew early (Oct/Nov07) due to being out of the country (Thailand) . would the extension be approved or would you have to re-apply after coming back.

Thank You, hope this makes sense.

I'm quite sure that applications can only be lodged a maximum of 30 days before the expiry of current valid visa or valid extension

I was told last year that my marriage to a thai national one year extension could not be done well in advance of the expiry date.

As I advised yesterday Immigration routinely provides this service early it you have documented reasons (tickets showing you will not be here and such).

I don't doubt what you say lopburi3 :D . However, unfortunately that depends on the mood of the officer on that day. I'm told by Phuket officers that the official rule is max 30 days before. Each year I try to processs my application as early as possible (just in case there is some new hoop to jump though, as there always is :o ) and I apply 30 days before.
