and if you have phone numbers handy feel free to add them too

thanks

Emirates via Dubai could be ok.. (I'm in transit NY - BKK right now)..

Might also want to try Qatar airlines... these guys are pretty competitive these days..

online prices look high

i am checking some travel agents near khaosaon area

the are telling me china and quate airlines are quite low

flights between 32,500 and 50,000 baht round trip

they tell me i can change dates if the seats are available

not sure what to believe

any input?

EVA via Taiwan to Seattle to NYC (lands in Newark)

Very reasonable and overall good value

Korean Air charges $1180 USD (incls all tax, etc) from Washing DC to Bangkok. I would think NY JFK would not be any more expensive since it is more heavily trafficked. I have used them 3 times and the real benefit is that there is only one stop ...in Seoul for 3 hours... after leaving DC

I fly Thaiair nonstop BKK to New York. 17 hours for around 40,000 bht. You will find that Delta/ Korean airlines will cost you less, but will take 29 to 40 hours with layovers.

i usually fly with china airlines- got a cheap deal through saveflights.com. they let me change dates for free before.

Kuwait air seems to have the best fares right now

i called many airlines direct

then i shopped around many travel agents

agents are as cheap or less

can anyone recommend a good travel agent near khaosan / soi rambutri area?

there are many but the quality of service and language barrier remain questionable

i think i will need an agent nearby to book, get ticket and pay with credit card

booking on line isn't cutting it for me

perhaps because i want to leave soon

one good thing, an agent showed me the seating assignment for Cathay

this is great for choosing perhaps a more comfortable trip

that seems like a good way to go and a short wait in hong kong i think

plus only about 36 k

Kuwait about 32-33K baht

round trip bkk-jfk

thanks for the links and suggestions

keep the ideas coming :o

the problem with Kuwait airlines is they can not guarantee me a seat assignment

i understand bulkhead window or emergency exit seats are the best / most comfortable for rest and sleep

otherwise it could be uncomfortable on such a long trip

there is much praise for etihad

so i will continue to look and book when i can set my own seat

that seems like the best way to go

any suggestions?
