September 26, 200718 yr Why does TT from UK Barclays to Kasikorn takes 4 days. When I TT similar amounts from my account in Switzerland it takes only 2 days.
September 26, 200718 yr There could be a multitude of reasons. You can ask Kasikorn for a copy of the telex and from that you will know whether the delay occurred in the UK or in Thailand. If you sent pounds, then it should arrive on the following working day. It's not unusual for delays to occur due to large volumes of transactions that need to be input both at the remnitting side and the beneficiary side, and since the interest earned while it is "in transit" goes to one or more of the banks in the chain they have little incentive to expedite things. Also, if you didn't specify the correspondent bank, there might have been a delay while Barclays contacted Kasikorn to verify the correspondent bank (but that;s not likely since Barclays must be remitting fuinds to kasikorn very often. And finally, I think that UK banks have a "fast" and a "normal" service, and perhaps you chose the normal service (maybe by default, since they will undoubtedly keep the funds earning interest in one of their suspense accounts for a couple of days.
September 26, 200718 yr I think most banks will tell you it COULD take up to 5 working days, I have an account in Jersey and have had money sent a few times, the best so far has been 18 hours!!!!!!! The worst was the full 5 days, who knows why!!?? I am just happy it arrives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

September 29, 200718 yr Ironic as Barclays **is** one of the Correspondent banks of Kasikorn in the UK ! Cause for complaint - maybe ? Case for compensation - why not try !
