No Alcohol Tonight!

Featured Replies

Why are bars and shops in some parts of Thailand today not allowed to sell alcohol to anybody after 6:00pm day before voting?

Can’t they sell to alcohol to tourists, as they have no voting rights?

I'm sure if you search around a bit, you'll find an outlet open.

BTW, it's the law.

If you are on Phuket then I'm sure the bars at Nai Yang Beach will be open.

OK I'll be honest here, what voting, what electoral activity?

No idea, first I've heard of it as well.

Are you sure you didn't wake up after a nightmare thinking there was no alcohol being sold today? :o

No-one at work seem to know anything about any election of any kind...

If it is true it just goes to show that you should always keep a well stocked fridge. :o

I think there are some local elections held in some provinces hence the ban

Possibly - not in BKK however. (Was just out for lunch and they did indeed serve beer to everyone.)
