Working in Thailand as an expat, I'm having a one year non immigrant type B multiple entry visa and I'm registered, having work permit etc, all ok and arranged by local company I'm detached for from Holland.

My girl friend is having an one year non immigrant type O multiple entry visa which will expire in January. As we are not married she could not be officially registered under my visa / work permit (is that true?). So fare no problem, before every 90 days of stay we go to Malaysia.

Now my questions;

  1. How to get her officially resisted under my visa without getting married?
  2. Is it easy to renew the non immigrant O visa for my girlfriend based on old visa and my passport with work visa approvals
  3. Enter Thailand just on a tourist visa (30 days) after the expiration of the non immigrant O visa and have it extended till max 90 days by leaving every 30 days? (by that time we will move to Singapore).

Any advise would be grateful. Thanks.

1. You don't.

2. No.

3. A normal 60 day tourist visa entry is extended 30 days by visiting immigration and paying 1,900 baht. You seem to be talking about visa exempt entry (unless GF is from country only allowed a 30 day tourist visa entry?) which is limited to 90 days in any six month period.

3) GF is Dutch. So when her non imm O visa expires after one year stay, she will go out of Thailand but can she then re-enter Thailand on a tourist visa up to 90 days max in 6 months period?

Yes she can enter using visa exempt entry for 30 days at a time up to a total of 90 days. It is not a tourist visa (that you obtain from a Consulate). If she obtained a tourist visa there would be no restriction on the number of days in six months.

Thanks for the info, that will do. I have one more question about Visa validity. Multiple Visa is issued -5 JAN 2007 and stamped with enter before -4 JAN 2008. Her first enty in Thailand was March 31, 2007. Is visa validation/ permission to stay then till March 31, 2008 or the enter before date stamed on Visa?

The visa is valid for use within the time marked on the visa - from date of issue until one year later in this case. The authorized period of stay for any entry is 90 days or less. So an entry on March 31, 2007 would have required an exit before the end of June this year. It is stamped in passport on entry as permitted to stay until. The last use of the visa must be before January 4, 2008 so if she enters on January 3rd she will receive a new 90 day permitted to stay until stamp which would actually cover her until about the March date. But it has nothing to do with her first entry being on March 31.
