What about member number 13?

I may be wrong but I also recall the original Thai Visa site being effectively a visa service, and was around for some time before the creation of the Fora. Lurked for yonks, but only posted once last years visa stuff started to cause problems and I could provide relevant information. For my sins and lack of medication have continued to gibber ever since.

I see from the profile of Rinrada, member #13, who posted in this topic, that he signed up on November 29, 2002. This means that ThaiVisas's fifth anniversary will come up soon and while you may not write your book by then, hopefully some short story will be available. Would be nice, and appreciated by many members I'm sure.

This is how almost all forums begin because nobody wants to post in an empty forum. Paying for the server and managing the site also gets you a certain amount of immunity.

Thank you guys, I guess that pretty well answers the questions I had about the origins of TV. It certainly has grown exponentially in five years! I find it a very useful resource and will continue to visit on a regular basis.

I came here as a poster when the Teaching forum started up- at the time, the only other viable Internet alternative for teachers in Thailand was (and as far as I know still is) very poorly run and I wanted to help make a difference on a site that was more serious.

Definitely could be some truth to that. The last time i was accosted my some 6 foot 3 damsel on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 5 at three in the morning, wearing high heels and proudly exhibiting a pair of of watermelons that even Pamela Anderson would have been proud of - i could have sworn that she had 'I love George' tattood above her belly-button.

Just as in Christianity, you have all that old testament stuff i.e. Moses, Able, David, George, Dr.Patpong, Cane etc.--important people who were there and contributing in the beginning... The story of Thaivisa has its own bible timeline.

The most important event that Thai Visa disciples should remember (THIS WILL BE ON THE EXAM) is on June 4, 2005 C.E., when member number 19,605 came to save all these rich and and anal aging expats from their sins of borderom.

there was a time when TV could organise a party and hope to fill a bar in sukhumvit.

with over 50,000 members we'd need a stadium these days.

Some interesting stats.

Over 2,400 people have been banned. Thats some 5%.

Of those over 180 had more than 100 posts.

22 had over 1,000 posts

The most prolific banned member had over 6,000 posts in just 20 months.
