How Long Before A Cbr Is Run In Properly? & Service Conundrum.

Just a quick one on what peoples opinions / thoughts are on the running in / bedding in of the CBR 150cc. Is there definitive answer or is a case by case, bike to bike thing?

My CBR's coming up to it's first milestone of 1000 KMs and (from what I can decipher of the user manual) it seems as though the first dealer service is at 1000 KMs.

What say you fellow bikers? Go through the barrier and to the four winds with set-service intervals or observe the servicing schedule?

If you run the bike normal and not overdrive the RPM then the bedding in time is when you think its ready, because the engine allready has a couple hours in a test bench in the factory running at diffrent RPM.

The most important thing get a Oil change

The standard check at 1000 KM is probably free at the dealer, and may consist of more than just an oil change. At least it was for me, four years ago. I was riding it at 110 kph during that time, but at various rpm's so the pistons wouldn't set wrong.

I've never babied my engine. It's seen 11,000 rpm five days a week for 47,000 km.

Added: about the service condom: I suggest you take it to an authorized Honda dealer for the first 24K km or 3 years, and keep receipts. Service is cheap, even at the dealers. Fresh oil is cheap, even every 3000 km (remember, there's no oil filter). If the dealer knows you're regular, and he screws up on a service job, the warranty should cover it.
