A friend of mine has the K700i from Sony Ericcson.

He likes it very much.

It is very highly recommended by Mobileburn.

Here is what their review summary said .....

>Our review K700i was running R2A041 firmware

>This is the part of the review I have been dreading. You see, the

>problem is that I really like the K700i. Really like it. It has

>everything that I certainly could want, and more. Something for

>everybody. Sure, it could use a memory card

>slot to make the best use of the MP3 player, but

>that would also add to the size of the handset. The new internal

>antenna design really works well, far better than any other internal

>antenna Sony Ericsson handset I have used. The new UI is beautiful and

>very user friendly. The speaker phone is awesome, and the Bluetooth

>system works really well, too. Did I mention the great panorama mode of

>the camera ?

>

>You get the point.

>

>But the battery life is the problem. It is not as bad as I first

>thought, though. The early firmware versions have a very inaccurate

>battery gauge. The indicator shows the battery as being nearly empty

>long before it is truly so. Battery life is still not as great as SE

>claims, but it is acceptable. A newly released firmware revision claims

>to improve both the real-world battery life and fix the indicator's

>pessimism. I will test that in the future, if possible. So with this in

>mind, I am upping the K700i's rating from its initial "Recommended"

>score to "Highly Recommended".

It is also a very small handset which is nice.

Does anyone have this model? I am trying to decide between it and the Sony Ericsson K700. Both seem like very good phones. Appreciate any user input.

The SPV C500 from orange is already out in Europe already and will be in thailand soon. This is the phone that I will buy. worlds smallest smartphone.

Having an MMC card slot in my phone has increased its usefulness. as it is also running symbian OS it can be used as a mini PDA. there are heaps of symbian programs out there. If you buy a phone with which you wish to listen to mp3's on, look for one with stereo sound out, better still a hardware mp3 player, as running a symbian mp3 client on your phone and only having a mono sound option is a bit dissapointing.

there are 1 gig MMC's that are compatible with phones now and that is a lot of mp3s,movies and games.

I agree. The sony i700 and other phones that dont have memory expansion slots are useles as far as im concerned.

Check out the SPV C500 has all the features

I agree that the expansion card slot is almost a must

if you will use the mp3 player or camera alot.

This SPV C500 looks pretty good to me, especailly since

I am longing for a smaller (thinner) device for my pocket.

The K700i is very thin.

I found another contender, the Motorola MPx220

It is too thick for my purposes.

But it does have a megapixel camera whereas

the C500 is 300Kpxl.

See this comparison ...

Convergence in the consumer handheld market is

getting to be more and more fun every year.
