November 14, 200718 yr I have Zone alarm security suite. I decided to run the on -line trend micro scan that true Internet provides. It reported a TROJ_Generic Trojan in the true high speed Internet folder. When I scan with zone alarm it doesn't report it. Can I believe trend micro and the only option to remove it from trend micro is to install there anti- virus and uninstall zone alarm to remove it. What should I do?
November 14, 200718 yr My past experience of using trend micro is that they spot thinks that arnt definately virus's but those free scn then buy sometimes do that..if you really wanna be sure then avg is free and very good free anti virus..isnt zone alarm more of a firewall than a virus protection???Although its been a couple of years since i used it
November 15, 200718 yr You do not need the True software at all in order to connect to the internet. Just uninstall it and you should be fine.
November 15, 200718 yr Reimar (a user here) posted some time ago about a trojan in True's software, so I guess the threat is real. 1st thing should be to remove True's software, reboot and see if the Trojan was removed as well. If not, you can try F-Secure online virus scanner as it is supposed to be able to disinfect, not only scan. Edited November 15, 200718 yr by yeti
