Hello Everyone!

Are there any places in Surin specializing in pure vegetarian food?

Where are they? What are they like?

Where, WHAT? Vegan food?

Well as it happens, the wife assures me there is a restaurant that specialises in this substance. Unfortunately she can't remember where it is.

Is there any reason why you can't go to any restaraunt and order a dish of your liking? Or is it something special you are looking for?

The missus also tells me there is an annual happening of some sorts that come to town, but she thinks this has already passed.

Sorry I can't help you any further as we are not in Surin at the moment, although she now tells me she thinks there is a restaraunt on the Buriram road. Apparently it is wrote in thai so perhaps if you go with your wife or girlfriend they might be able to tell you where it is.

We won't be back in Surin until january so we won't be able to find out where it is until then, perhaps try asking some chineses people as they might be able to help you out.

John..... :o:D:D:D:D

Aplogies for the pun above.

Don't you wish that people would just answer the d@mned question?

There is a Vegan restaurant in Surin and it is located on Lak Muang Road. It is quite good food and cheap. Are you in Surin? PM me for more specific directions. I live there.

@JohnSurin:

There is a reason that he can't go to any restaurant and order a dish to his liking. It's because the dishes to his liking don't include products originating from animals and he either has health concerns or deeply personal, spiritual, and/or ethical reasons for being a vegan. Many people choose to follow this diet and are frequently accosted with exclamations of disbelief and even derision.

Did I not say there was a vegitarian restaraunt in Surin?

I don't recall mentioning KFC!!!

I wonder why?

Perhaps because all of its menu is full of CHICKEN, which I believe is a member of the bird family, which also makes it an animal. Hence, I did not make any stupid remarks why he might try this or any other establishment in the first place.

@dkstoney:

So what is stopping him from going to any restaraunt and ordering a vegitarian meal?

Not every meal on the menu has to have a dead (or still moving) animal on it!

Don't you think people would just d@mned well think about something so simple as that!!!!!

Or replying in a rhetorical manner without d@mned well thinking about it themselves!!!!!

Myself, personally, I very rarely eat a meal without meat on it, but I dont think I have to avoid vegetarian restaraunts like the plague. I just choose to go where I please, without

Not that I give d@mn.

..... without the need to stigmaize people as having to be being ill or deeply spiritual to be a vegan. Perhaps the OP doesn't like the taste. However, do you generally accost people with exclamations of disbelief or even derision of the afore mentioned (by yourself) if they are vegan? I personally find this quite a narrow minded point of view, and find it offensive to vegan's that you should make such remarks about them.

I stick by my afore mentioned statement... :o:D:D:D:D

I admire those who can eat vegan-style and avoid leather and other animal products in every day life. It's impossible to live without killing something but those do their best to keep the pain and deaths to other animals down are usually respectable people in my view.

BTW I had some Indian students who were Sikh's. The ones with white turbans didn't eat meat they said but drinking milk was okay for them as they said it didn't harm animals. They really liked pizza as it was considered vegetarian to them. Amazingly at 16 years old, they were pretty heavily into pot. I saw one of them eating a hamburger once too. They also liked to play all the shoot-em-up video games.

But hasn't it been proved that plants feel pain as well?
