I'm on a Non-O visa and have a flight booked for 2 days AFTER my permission-to-stay stamp (bad flight availability around Xmas).

If an application for 2-day extension (form TM7, I think) is a simple rubberstamp job then I'll probably do that: I'm not currently planning on leaving the country before my and I'm the sort of play-it-by-the-rules type who's a bit reluctant to go on overstay.

What would you folks advise:

- apply for extension of temp stay for 2 days

- pay 2 days' overstay anyway

- do a visa run over the border (I'm BKK-based).

Thanks.

Take your ticket, passport, 4x6cm photo and copies and apply for the extension of stay about a week before. Normally up to 7 days is available in such a situation. If they say no you still have time to make a border run for a visa exempt entry. Allways best not to have overstay stamps (and much better than the problems overstay would cause if checked before exit).
