after much searching even reading pattaya immigration office web site i am confused can any member supply or tell me where to find a simple to follow step by step idiots guide to retiring on pension income,i am a 65 year old single male with uk passport

You need to show Immigration a bank account in Thailand with 800,000 baht balance or an income of 65,000 baht per month or a combination of income and savings.

Does this 65,000 baht per month pension have to transferred to Thailand every month or can you use it via an ATM as required

No, it does not have to be transferred. However, if you live in Nong Khai, there might be a different answer.
