November 27, 200718 yr What were your reasons for getting married in Thailand over your home country? Where they political, economic or social reasons Mine were all three.
November 27, 200718 yr We married in the UK (before the restrictions on getting married on a tourist visa) if I were to do it again it would definately be in Thailand, slightly more paperwork but considerably less expense. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

We were living in Thailand at the time Note we have never done the ceremony, so it was certainly cheap even though we had an agency take care of paperwork and just had to show up at amphur to sign. November 27, 200718 yr We got married in Thailand since we wanted a buddhist ceremony too and this was far easier to arrange in Thailand. It was also easier for my wifes family to attend our wedding and for my family to fly out to Thailand, than if we tried to bring my wife's family to the UK for the ceremony.

Mine where mainly the timing, ease (rather than get a Fiance Visa) and economical Oh yes forgot. I already owned a Wok (although never used) so didn't want a reception in the Uk, where 99% of the pressie's would have been a Wok Edited November 27, 200718 yr by mrbojangles
