Change Visa From Tourist To Non Immigrant O After Marriage

My boyfriend will enter the country with tourist visa 30 days(he is bulgarian) and we plan to register our marriage and extend his stay with my 40K income. What we exactly need to do?

1) 60 days provision extension , then change visa to non imm O , and later we do 1 year extension

or

2) change from tourist visa to non imm O (TM 86) , and later with 1 year extension (TM 7)

And a few more questions, we will not have a wedding in the near future, is the wedding picture really needed? And currently I rent an apartment and he will come to live with me. Would this be OK to show as the place we live together?

If you are fast and can make the marriage and get to immigration within the first week you can go with plan 2 but suspect plan 1 with the extra 60 day extension first might be more reasonable. Get married and then obtain the one time 60 day extension of stay under provision 7.23 Be sure you have your home register/ID card and the marriage certificate available when he makes application.

Apartment should be fine - take some photos inside and outside. There is no requirement for wedding photos (many people don't have them) - photos together at your apartment should be fine.

For 60 days provision , financial proof is not needed , right?

The 40k a month is all you need. The 400k is not required in addition to the monthly income.

practical and legal relationship
