Miami Hotel

Featured Replies

Ive been staying here for about 4 months, its cheap enough, but Im now sure that there is no way they will be able to bring themselves to return my bond. Has anyone else stayed here long term or know anyone that has and were they able to get their bond back?

Cheers

Yes, thats the place, I dont know yet but they will think of something, they are rather nasty, and I see looking at reviews on the internet that Im not the only person that has problems with them.

Forget it, they never return the bond, they will find something to keep it.

a long term resident at the miami hotel?

holy shit . . . . the mind boggles.

The big question is . . . .WHY?

Just curious, but how much do they charge for a room? I remember when I first came to Thailand a few years ago I asked them about renting a room for a month, as I needed a place fast and didn't know the city well, and they wanted like 15k a month for only a standard cheap hotel room. I ended up renting a much nicer studio in a big apartment block for like 5k instead.

its about 6000b all up for a month, pretty cheap for the area and the room is livable, but Im sure they wont give the bond back and the staff behave like prison wardens, Im guessing it will be pulled down when the owners die, it doesnt seem to have had any maintainence done since the vietnam war

can you say "shit" on thaivisa.com ?

(if so why does the mild "hel_l" gets sensored?!?!?!? pls explain mods!)

I fondly remember a number of Thermae experiences in that hotel room several years ago. It was extraoridinarly filthy back then and I guess they haven't cleaned it since.

I seem to recall some sort of family dispute regarding the ownership......

Google 'stop words' and all will become clear.

That's a good price, I would have stayed there if they had offered that. Not sure why they asked me for so much more, though I only talked to a receptionist and maybe she thought I looked like I could easily be ripped off. Anyway, good luck with getting you're deposit back, you'll need it. :o

I stayed at the Miami on my first visit in 1979. B160-180.

They are waiting for the old lady owner (see her in the coffee shop) to pass away in order to redevelop the site.

It's very well located for the Thermae knocking shop. But the young Thai-Chinese male receptionist is a very nasty piece-of-work which would deter anyone from staying there, quite apart from the delapidation.

oh yeah, just found this while looking for pics of the crane, in the end I decided that the machete wielding lady at my door was an omen to leave, not only did I not get the bond back but I actually had to pay them a few extra weeks rent before they would let me remove my belongings, but there is a god after all and it appears karma fell right on top of them

Did you go back and laugh in their faces about the crane?
