Christmas Lights - Where To Buy

Featured Replies

I'm trying to buy some Xmas lights, (the small bulb type in a string for external use, typically 100 or 140 bulbs per box).

Now, Tesco, Big C etc all sell these types of lights for about 59 baht a box. But they are either multicoloured or all white. I've seen many hotels etc with all-blue lights which look very pretty. Can I find a shop which sells them? No!!

I've tried both Phuket and Bangkok, going to more upmarket shops such as Emporium and Central Shopping. No-one seems to sell these types of lights, (although clearly they are available). I even asked at the hotels who had these blue lights where they bought them, but no-one nows....

Is there a shop in BKK orPhuket which sells a range of Xmas lights, such as those which also hang down like a curtain?

Thanks

Simon

You could try asking at the karaoke bars - they seem to have a lot strung outside. I've used the same Big C tree and lights for years. I'm using them now, too! :o

Last night i bought a string of 100 green lights at a shop in south pattaya, they also have blue, 300 baht.about 8 metre long.let me know if you want the shops details.

Do you know china town ( yao-wa rad) ?close by china town call klong-tomm that place you can buy any light stuff you want.

I red your topic this morning, not knowing that I would be buying Christmas lights later today.. And with your post in mind, I opted for blue ones!!!! You're right, they DO look more special than red or green. I got some yellow ones as well, which look a bit brighter.

Anyway, I live in Chiang Mai and got them at Global House (www.globalhouse.co.th), a big construction materials & home improvement hypermarket. They're not in Bangkok though, but have outlets in some North Eastern provinces as well.

Anyway, string of blue lights: 30 baht. (yes, THIRTY). I love this place, usually really good deals on stuff. Also bought a 20 meter extension cord so I could reach some pine-ish trees in the garden. (105 baht for the roll-up extension cord)
