I am currently on the back end of a non-imm. B visa. Whne I leave the country this time I will re-enter on a tourist [30 day] visa.

I just bought a watch for my partner that I want to get a VAT refund on when I leave. Will I be able to get it as 1] I am leaving on a B but re-entyering on a tousist [therefore not actually a 'tourist' at time of purchase] and 2] I will be leaving for 1 day only and then re-entering Thailand the next day.

Betty,have done VAT refunds many times and have never seen the Customs chap check the passport for visa's etc,only if the info matches the refund forms.Do not think it will be a problem.I did a laptop refund a couple of weeks ago.cheers

Interesting! As a permanent resident, I always assumed that I would not be eligible for a tax refund. I should give it a try next time!
